Sport Hansa LLC, an importer and distributor of authentic European outdoor brands and product lines, continues to expand its U.S. retail presence, naming Adam Cohen as director of business development, effective immediately.
Cohen brings over 12 years of experience in the outdoor industry, having worked with Eagles Nest Outfitters (ENO) as international sales manager, among other positions. Adam will execute Sport Hansa’s retail distribution strategy while helping to expand the company’s European brand portfolio. His focus is to grow the outdoor category and collaborate with brand partners on strategic marketing and product initiatives.
Adam’s passion for wilderness self-reliance, coupled with his in-depth knowledge of primitive skills, gives him personal insight into the ethos of Sport Hansa brands, such as Hults Bruk Swedish Axes, Helle Knives of Norway, Nordic Pocket Saw and Swiss Advance.
“I’m excited to join the team at Sport Hansa,” he said. “The products offer a level of authenticity and craftsmanship that consumers are searching for, and I’m personally motivated by the compelling history of the brands. I look forward to sharing that tradition with others.”
“Our business of importing and promoting niche European outdoor brands is unique and even a bit idiosyncratic,” added Matt Huff, managing director of Sport Hansa. “It demands the right person to understand and explain the brands and value propositions to retailers and stakeholders. Adam is just that person and we’re proud to welcome him to the team.”
