Sport Hansa LLC is bringing British mountaineer and award winning author Andy Kirkpatrick to the U.S. to help independent specialty dealers promote the British mountaineering brand Montane.

Kirkpatrick will speak at three independent specialty just in time for peak climbing season.  At the events, Montane will debut its Fall 2014 apparel and outerwear collection at the events. Swag, raffles, refreshments and a free athlete poster signing with Kirkpatrick will be offered.

Using film, slides, music and unscripted humor, Kirkpatrick will share his experiences tackling some of the hardest climbs in the world, ranging from the French Alps and Norway to Patagonia and Antarctica. Topics include teams under pressure, risk management, mental robustness and getting stuff done against the odds.

The events will take place at:

  • •Fountain Square Outfitters in  Glens Falls, NY at 6  pm on Sept. 26
  • Rock & Snow in New Paltz, NY at 7 pm on Sept. 27, and
  • Bill & Paul’s Sporthaus in Grand Rapids, MI at 5:30 pm Sept. 30.

Kirkpatrick has appeared on Ted Talks, contributes to Climbing Magazine and his book, Psychovertical won the Boardman Tasker Award for mountain literature.  His vivid depictions and total embodiment of the climbing lifestyle allows audiences to experience the risk, tension and exhilaration of big wall climbing close at hand.
