Specialized is recalling its 2004 “S-works Enduro and Enduro Expert” line of full suspension bikes due to potentially faulty disc brake tabs on the Fox forks which came standard on the bikes.

The bikes were sold with 8-inch rotors, designed to improve braking power over the standard 6-inch rotors, but the increased stress on the brake tabs caused Fox to have some concerns about the materials.

Specialized is replacing the 8-inch rotors with the 6-inch variety free of charge at local Specialized dealers. Fox discovered in their testing labs that “down the road there might be a problem,” according to Rick Vosper, Specialized’s marketing manager. Currently none of the forks have failed, and no injuries have been reported. Only 250 bikes are affected by the recall.
