Smith & Wesson Corp., announced that the company was recently honored with two awards from the National Guard and Reserve – the “Above and Beyond Award” and the “Patriot Award.”
The awards were presented to Smith & Wesson by the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard (ESGR) during a special ceremony at the company's headquarters.
As part of the ESGR awards program, the “Above and Beyond Award” and the 'Patriot Award' recognize employers who have a strong track record of outstanding service and continuing support to the national defense. Employers receive the award based on leadership and personnel policies that support employee participation in the Guard and Reserve.
“As a company, Smith & Wesson recognizes that the Guard and Reserve are essential to the strength of our nation and the well-being of our communities,” said Michael Golden, President and CEO of Smith & Wesson.
“We fully recognize, honor and enforce the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Act (USERRA). With a number of our own employees serving in the Guard and Reserve, we will continually recognize and support their self sacrifices and those of their families in times of peace, crisis and war.”
