Smartwool opened its first Canadian retail location in the mountain town of Banff, Alberta. A first-of-its-kind in Canada, the new Smartwool store offers a shopping experience that caters to outdoor enthusiasts. The shop has one of the largest assortments of Smartwool products in Canada, as well as a selection of Timberland footwear.

Located on Banff Avenue, the new retail space combines a welcoming, rustic vibe and technical features, using both reclaimed barn board, digital displays and an engaging team of associates. The design evokes the authentic mountain aesthetic of the magnificent Canadian Rockies and features the contemporary folk art of American artist John Fellows.

“An iconic international outdoor destination, Banff is the quintessential expression of mountain culture, which makes it the ideal location for our first Canadian Smartwool store,” said Corey Stecker, Smartwool Canada sales & marketing director. “We could not be more excited to create a Smartwool retail experience that both serves the local and visiting outdoor enthusiast and allows us to showcase our full brand story.”

Visitors can learn more about Smartwool and its Merino while they shop for baselayers, insulated midlayers, outerwear, lifestyle apparel, accessories and performance and casual socks, all made with sustainably sourced Merino.

Located at 126 Banff Ave, the store will be open 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
