Guyot Designs has appointed Sloan Russell as President of the quickly growing company. Russell, formerly a inventor contract consultant in the high-tech sector for Nortel Networks, has been with Guyot Designs since its inception and is rapidly implementing a vision for Guyot Designs as an innovative product development company. Russell’s primary goal is to establish Guyot Designs as a cooperative safe harbor for inventors, and as a springboard for bringing innovative product ideas to market.

“We realized very quickly with SplashGuard that the market needed a safe place for inventors to actualize their ideas,” said Russell. “Like most markets, outdoor is driven by innovation and invigorated by new ideas, and Guyot Designs is the go-to resource for bringing those ideas through the development process.”

Russell describes Guyot’s company culture as cooperative and non-hierarchical, stating that the company is committed to fair practices and mutually beneficial partnerships.

“We’re currently working with two solutions-oriented products from outside innovators that will launch at Outdoor Retailer summer market. It’s incredibly energizing to work with new ideas from concept to finished product, with the goal of providing solutions consumers will immediately embrace.”

“Our vision at Guyot from the beginning has been to enhance the outdoor experience one idea at a time,” said Guyot, now CEO of Guyot Designs. “Any time we can bring a simple yet brilliant idea to market we are allowing for greater enjoyment of life’s adventures, from the office commute to a months-long expedition. Sloan brings direction to Guyot Designs that will implement this vision in every step of the product development process, from working with inventors, standardizing fair practices and partnerships, and bringing better ideas to market.”
