Skirtsports Inc., a Boulder-based business that sells fitness apparel for women and girls, has launched the SkirtChaser race series. SkirtChaser also will be the name of a new line of men's apparel Skirtsports will be introducing in August.
The 5K race series will be in seven cities in the United States – Tempe, Ariz.; Raleigh, N.C.; Chicago, Ill.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Denver; Santa Monica, Calif.; and Austin, Texas. The dates and months will be announced in January.
“I always had the vision of doing an event series,” said Skirtsports' founder Nicole DeBoom. “I felt like we didn't need to focus on women only for this part of the company. We needed to include the men in our lives. We want them to stay in shape, too.”
In keeping with the name of the race series, the men start three minutes after the women. The first person across the line wins $500.
