Skirt Sports, the women's fitness apparel maker, announced its sponsorship of professional ultramarathon athlete Jamie Donaldson.  Donaldson is slated to compete at the upcoming Badwater Ultramarathon, known as 'the world's toughest foot race,' in Death Valley, CA. this July where she looks to defend her first place victory and course record set in 2010.

“Jamie is not only an extreme athlete, she is a great friend, inspirational woman and dedicated teather,” said Nicole DeBoom, founder and CEO of Skirt Sports. “She embodies the spirit of Skirt Sports and we are honored to have her on our team. And when I discovered she was an excellent tap dancer that really sealed the deal for us!”

Originally from Pennsylvania, Donaldson resides in Littleton, Colo. where she trains year-round for 100 mile plus racing. An alumnus of Penn State, Donaldson is a middle school math teacher and has professionally competed in ultramarathons for over six years.  Career highlights include first place wins and course records (men's and women's) at the Lost 118 and Philadelphia 100 and wins at the Javelina Jundred and Rocky Mountain Double Marathon.  Donaldson has also competed in such prestigious races as the 24 Hour World Championship and Ultracentric.

When not burning up the roads and trails in her Skirt Sports' Marathon Girl Ultra Skirt, Ice Queen Jacket, and Tough Girl Vest, Donaldson can be found relaxing with her husband David and 140 pound furry friend, Morrison. She also enjoys a good slice of pizza (hold the mushrooms), rocks out to Katy Perry and indulges in chocolate every chance she gets.

“I am beyond proud to be part of the Skirt Sports family,” noted Donaldson.  “Nicole and her team understand what it takes to perform on the professional level and their apparel definitely allows me focus on my racing while feeling and looking great.  In fact, I wore Skirt Sports' Gym Girl Ultra Skirt when I won Badwater last year so I'm confident that their products can handle anything if they can withstand the punishment of one of the world's toughest races.”
