Skechers is planning to set up a Skechers Elite rewards program to
reward consumers who submit reviews or answer other consumers’ questions
about Skechers products on skechers.com. Skechers Elite members will receive points for such actions that will be added to those earned when making a purchase in order to receive discount coupons or a free pair of shoes.

The program was first reported on adweek.com.

According to the report, Skechers.com features 60,000 total product reviews and 32,500 questions and answers.

Further discounts will be go reviewers who are most
often listed as helpful by other users. PowerReviews is helping running the program.

Skechers will extend the incentivized reviews program to non-Elite
members as well, so that consumers who had submitted reviews or answers
retroactively receive points. “If they already have the points sitting
around, they may as well try to make some purchases and redeem their
points,” Tim Lakin, e-commerce merchandising manager at Skechers, told Adweek.

The incentivized reviews program is set to go live within the next couple months.
