Skechers  USA, Inc. announced footwear industry veteran David Beecroft will assume the position of managing director of Skechers  USA Canada, overseeing Skechers' business in Canada effective Sept. 10, 2012.

For nearly 25 years, David Beecroft has worked in sales and marketing for both distributors and major brands within the sporting goods and footwear industries in Canada. This includes seven years previously working with Skechers , plus management positions with brands like Teva Sandals, Simple Shoes, FUBU and most recently Timberland Canada.

“David has a long and successful history with Skechers , and we consider him a part of our extended family,” stated Marvin Bernstein, managing partner for Skechers S.à.r.l. “With his extensive product and sales background working for both Skechers  and with other major brands, David brings to the table an astute understanding of Canada's footwear market as well as our operations. I know he will be a fantastic asset to our ever growing Canadian business.”

David will be taking over the role formerly filled by John Hartshorn who managed Skechers' Canada operations from the Company's first Canadian distribution deal in 1997 through June 2012, when he passed away.

Skechers  began direct distribution of its footwear in 2003 when the Company established Skechers  USA CANADA. Skechers  is available through more than a thousand wholesale accounts, seven company-owned retail stores and nine franchised Skechers  stores in the country. Skechers  Canada is now one of the company's largest subsidiaries.
