Sierra Designs, which has recently reinvented its line of backpacking gear, rebuilt its U.S. sales team, has hired outdoor industry veteran Bill Conradt as head of global sales.

Bringing years of industry experience and a desire to take part in a truly unique brand experience, Conradt will join a rebellious crew of industry vets and young innovators working to redefine life in the backcountry. Starting in July, Conradt will be tasked with managing daily sales operations while growing the Sierra Designs brand around the world.

“I had been looking for an incredible opportunity and after working with SD briefly on a contract basis, I realized that there is no greater opportunity than the one we have right here,” says Conradt.  “Sierra Designs represents a very interesting mix of outdoor heritage and new thinking. A chance to be part of something this unique only comes around so often and I wanted in.”

Before joining the Sierra Designs team, Conradt was the VP of Global Sales for Cascade Designs where he led the company’s sales efforts for dominant brands like Thermarest, Sealline, and MSR.  Prior to that, Conradt worked at Cannondale where he had several roles including leading sales and operations in Japan and Australia.

“I could not be more excited that Bill has chosen to join our quest to redefine performance backpacking gear,” said Michael Glavin, VP and Brand Manager for Sierra Designs. “There simply is nobody better suited to lead SD’s sales effort and ensure that we achieve the success we are capable of.”

Conradt will be based in Spokane, WA and can be reached at Bill.Conradt@sierradesigns.com.
