The SIA.06 SnowSports Show is officially sold out for the second year in a row. SIA.06 will take place at Mandalay Bay Convention Center for the fourth straight year, January 23-26, 2006.
To date over 320,000 square feet has been sold with exhibitors on tap to showcase more than 750 brands. SIA has already secured space contracts from 24 new exhibitors and started the waiting list process. New exhibitors include a compilation of industry newcomers and veterans such as Baseline, Hayes Brothers Snowboards, Kenyon Consumer Products, Lifelink and Yakima. “The SIA Show provides a unique and significant opportunity to spend valuable time with our retail partners and we are delighted to be back,” stated Amy Buckalter, senior vice president, global sales and marketing for Watermark.
SIA.06 will follow suit of years past and showcase some of the top brand names representing a cross section of the entire winter sports industry including: 4FRNT, Armada, Burton, Cloudveil, Coal Headwear, DaKine, Erin Snow, Fischer, K2, Level Gloves, Line, Mountain Hardwear, Orage, Patagonia, Ride, Rome, Rossignol, Salomon/Bonfire, Section, Sessions, Siver Cartel, Tubbs Snowshoes, Volcom and more. “Selling out the floor space for the second consecutive year confirms that the SIA SnowSports Show works as a preview show and the industry has adapted to making this show the premier snow sports event in North America,” said David Ingemie, president of SIA.
“With a flat market, it is exciting that the SIA SnowSports Show provides a place for new exhibitors to come and debut their products,” said Bob Olson, owner of Viking Ski Shop. “The SIA Show provides the best place to see all the products as well as learn about new products and innovations from industry veterans and newcomers,” he added.
Attendees and exhibitors will catch the first glimpse of the official floor plan by July 1. SIA will continue to segregate the floor plan by alpine, snowboard, accessories and apparel. The Showcase Exhibits will return with increased presence in the Show floor Lobby in addition to a cyber lounge, Information Desk and SIA Resource Center. New events and features are also being planned to create an even more dynamic networking and business environment. Details on these events will be released at a later date.
The SIA.05 SnowSports Show reported a nearly 1% increase in buyer attendance from the 2004 Show with 4,831 buyers and a 6.9% increase in buyers per shop with a 3.05 average. The buying power index for the SIA.05 show also indicated a 1.5% increase with 89.58% of the U.S. retail buying power represented.
