Shimano Inc  announced its Singapore subsidiary will invest approximately $34 million to build a 260,000-square-foot manufacturing company in the Philippines to enhance production of bicycle components for emerging markets.

Construction began on the plant in July in the First Philippine Industrial Park in Tanauan City in the province of  Batangas. Shimano expects construction to be completed by the end of the year.
