Sherpa Adventure Gear announced its plans to open its first U.S. flagship store in Seattle, WA in November 2017. The store is located at 2000 1st Ave. near the booming tourist area of Pike’s Place Market.
It will be home to office space as well as prime retail space that will bring a sense of Nepal to Seattle and create a unique brand experience not previously available in the U.S. Many of the furnishings and decor is curated from Nepal. Iconic images and climbing memorabilia from Sherpa athlete and legendary climber, Lakpa Rita Sherpa, is also on display. The store will be managed by Mike Baker who brings many years of retail experience. Events such as educational seminars, travel clinics and athlete demonstrations will be held throughout the year.
“Opening a store in Seattle is something we’ve always dreamed of doing,” notes Tsedo Sherpa-Ednalino, COO of Sherpa Adventure Gear. “Being able to interact and create one-on-one connections with our customers while sharing our brand story and ethos with more people is what we’ve been striving for. This chapter will allow us to build our community and brand awareness. As our brand grows we will be able to do more to give back to Nepal by creating more jobs and empower more students with educational opportunities,” continues Sherpa-Ednalino. “There was no doubt that Seattle would be the place where we built our store in North America. Seattle is where Sherpa Adventure Gear was founded and where our family calls home, besides Nepal. Being able to bring pieces of Nepal to Seattle in this way is an honor.”

Grand Opening celebrations will be held on November 11, 2017, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The celebration will entail traditional performances, Nepalese food, complimentary beverages and giveaways. More information on can be found here.
