The Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA) announced the inaugural 2013 class of the Future Industry Leaders Scholarship Program.
This is a competitive, application based scholarship program which provides complimentary SFIA Industry Leaders Summit registrations to five young professionals in the sports & fitness industry. Eligible applicants were required to be under 40 years-old, currently work for an SFIA Corporate member company and have executive, “C” level aspirations. All applicants were asked to provide their vision for the future of the sports & fitness industry and then to describe how they intend to contribute to that vision.
This year’s class includes:
Isaiah Kacyvenski (Head of Sports Segments at MC10 Inc.)
Keenan Long (Research & Design Engineer at Easton-Bell)
Bob Najduk (Senior Product Manager, Global Retail at Johnson Health Tech)
Alex Stone (Development Manager, Accessories at Under Armour)
Nathaniel Woo (Corporate Development Analyst at Life Time Fitness)
For the next five weeks, SFIA Weekly will highlight each of the winning scholars at www.sfia.org/ils and in SFIA Weekly.
“In addition to providing forums like the SFIA Industry Leaders Summit for the sports and fitness industry’s executive level leaders, it has always been part of our mission to help develop our future leaders. This program provides our scholars with an opportunity to cultivate skills and build relationships that are essential to their personal leadership development process,” said Ron Rosenbaum, SFIA’s Sr. Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. “Our organization is proud to host an event that highlights our commitment to supporting many of the talented future leaders of our industry.”
The scholarship recipients will be acknowledged at the dinner ceremony on September 25, 2013 at the Baltimore Four Seasons Hotel. The Summit will feature sessions ranging from forecasting and understanding domestic and global economic trends, emerging market analysis and the future of sourcing to forecasting the merger and acquisition environment and the convergence of technology in sports.
