A lawsuit by Dick's Sporting Goods Inc. accusing Mitchell Modell, CEO
of Modell's Sporting Goods, of pretending to be an executive with the
Dick's Sporting Goods chain to gain access to confidential business
information has been quietly settled, according to northjersey.com
The
complaint, filed in New Jersey superior court for Mercer County,
alleges that CEO Mitchell Modell and a female companion entered a Dick's
store in Princeton on Feb. 8. Modell allegedly told a Dick's SG store
manager that he was a SVP of Dick's SG, visiting in order to gather
information and to meet with Dick's SG's CEO Edward Stack. Dick's
complaint accused Modell of civil conspiracy and trespass

lawyer for Dick's SG confirmed to northjersey.com that the lawsuit was
“settled very quickly,” although the erms of the settlement are being
kept confidential,
