Scheels reported it is building out a second All Sports store in Cedar Park, TX, with a scheduled opening in Fall 2026. Construction on the project will begin early next year in a development near the H-E-B Center, soon to be home of the Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM). The site will also include a center and a hotel.

Scheels All Sports store for this location will be the second core anchor tenant in the development alongside NFM, with 240,000 square feet of premium retail space. The store joins the Scheels Colony location, which opened in North Dallas in 2020, expanding the retailer’s reach across the state.

“The people of North Texas have welcomed Scheels with open arms, and we could not be more excited to bring another location to the state,” said Scheels CEO Steve M. Scheel. “Our location in The Colony at Grandscape is another NFM development, and we could not pass up the opportunity to work alongside the NFM team again. We look forward to building upon our partnership and bringing another unmatched retail experience to the Austin community when we open our doors in Cedar Park.”

When construction on the store is complete, Cedar Park Scheels will include entertainment, specialty shops and boutiques selling premium products and top brands. Like other Scheels stores, the site will be a family-friendly destination, that will include a 65-foot Ferris Wheel, a 16,000-gallon saltwater aquarium with over 600 fish, a wildlife mountain, and Fuzziwig’s Candy Shop.

“Scheels is a one-of-a-kind destination retail experience that showcases not only an incredible selection of the best brands but also the best in customer service,” said NFM chief strategy and development officer Jeff Lind. “They truly offer a unique experience in the area of sporting goods and so much more. I’m so proud to welcome them to CedarView and look forward to them being neighbors of NFM.”

The Cedar Park store will be the 35th employee-owned Scheels location, with 32 stores and two others scheduled to open in 2024 in Meridian, ID and Tulsa, OK.
