The RV Industry Association’s (RVIA) Board of Directors held its first meeting of 2024 last week at the front end of the RV Leadership Conference.

RVIA’s Board of Directors is responsible for setting and overseeing strategies and policies related to standards, marketing, government affairs, industry education, statistical data, and association finances.

With a packed agenda, the Board said it covered many topics related to the industry’s ongoing support for the RV Technical Institute, the Go RVing marketing campaign, government affairs updates, membership, and governance topics. The Board also heard updates on the Emerging Leaders Coalition, a driving force behind the RV Leadership Conference.

During the meeting, RVIA’s Board voted to approve the creation of a Workplace Safety Committee, a “dedicated and proactive group made up of industry representatives, safety professionals and Association staff committed to promoting the well-being and safety of all individuals within the workplace.”

While the industry has been working together to prioritize workplace safety for years through the Workplace Safety Taskforce, elevating the work to a standing committee signifies the Board’s long-term commitment to workplace safety and the well-being of industry workers.

Also, during the conference, the newly formed RV Campground Coalition held its first in-person meeting and began setting goals for unifying the industry around campgrounds’ importance to the current and future health of RV camping.

The next meeting of the RV Industry Board of Directors will take place during RVs Move America Week on June 6.
