Russell Athletic and the Host Committee for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) football national championship announced the extension of an agreement that grants Russell Athletic “title sponsorship” rights for 2010 NAIA Football Championship. The agreement, which began in 2008, gives Russell exclusive sponsorship rights and brand exposure on all signage, backdrops, collateral and websites for the 2010 NAIA Championship Game on Dec. 18 in Rome.

The terms of the partnership grant Russell “Official” status across a number of different national brand exposure/advertising platforms:

  • Russell will receive field signage, assuring national television exposure during the broadcast.
  • Russell will receive the rights of “Title Sponsorship” on all signage/collateral/web sites/etc.
  • Russell will receive brand exposure on all press conference backdrops used during bowl week
  • Russell will receive ads during the TV Broadcast
  • Russell will be the official and exclusive outfitter of all game week volunteers and game day staff. The NAIA Host Committee will provide players and coaches from participating schools with Russell Athletic apparel.

“Russell Athletic is a perfect fit for the NAIA football championship, and we are delighted that they will continue to partner with us,” said Host Committee co-chair and Shorter University Athletic Director Bill Peterson. “The Russell name is synonymous with outstanding college athletics, and their support has been an incredible asset for Rome's NAIA championship efforts.”

Rome attorney and Host Committee co-chair Bob Berry added, “When Rome landed the NAIA championship in 2008, very few people understood what this game could mean to the Rome and Floyd County. Russell stepped forward to partner with us at that time, and we are pleased that their ongoing commitment indicates that they have found value in being the first-ever title sponsor of the NAIA Football Championship Game.”

“We are excited about continuing the relationship with the NAIA Football Championship Game,” said Executive Vice President of Russell Brands Gary Barfield. “The exposure this game garners around the Nation re-emphasizes Russell Athletic's focus on college athletics in general and is what gives us the authenticity of being proven on the field.”
