The International Olympic Commitee (IOC) voted to include both golf and rugby in the 2016 and 2020 summer games. The sports replaced baseball and softball, which were removed from the roster in 2005.
The two sports were added in separate votes, and both were approved by large margins. Tiger Woods, among others, urged the IOC to include golf in the games. The president of the IOC is a former rugby player. The sports will be reviewed in 2017.
