Ulf Bjerknes has resigned as president of Rottefella AS to take a position as managing director of Swix AG by June 1.

Bjerknes, who became the managing director of Rottefella AS in 2003, leaves a company positioned as a market leader in the development and production of bindings for cross country and rapidly growing telemark and alpine touring markets.

During Bjerknes’ tenure, Rottefella increased revenues and market share. He oversaw the development and launch of more than 13 unique binding models and the acquisition of Swiss bindings maker Naxo AG. The company also broke the 1 million unit mark for binding production last year and will open a new plastics plant this month in Norway that Rottefella said will set the standard for modern binding production.

The process of finding a new managing director for the company has been initiated, and Bjerknes will leave his current position as soon as this process has been completed, but no later than June 1, 2008.

Bjerknes leaves the company at his own request, as he will assume the position of managing director of Swix AS.
