Roots Corp. hired Joey Gollish as creative director in residence, effective March 7 through 2025; this represents the first time in the company’s history that it added an outside creative to work for the brand.

During his tenure, Gollish will work with chief product officer Karuna Scheinfeld, who leads the company’s creative and design teams.

Gollish, the founder and creative director of Mr. Saturday’s fashion label, will continue to work in that capacity.

Through our collaboration with Mr. Saturday in December 2022, we found that Joey had a deep love for the Roots brand and a unique perspective that will support our long-term objective of increasing the brand’s global appeal,” commented Roots President & CEO Meghan Roach. “We look forward to the exciting opportunities this additional creative influence will bring to Roots.

Gollish and Mr. Saturday have collaborated over the past two years, including its “Roots Saturday Airlines,” released at the end of 2022. Gollish has also collaborated with Roots on leather outerwear, travel bags and accessories for Mr. Saturday’s FW2023 runway show in Paris and will again integrate Roots into Mr. Saturday’s SS24 collection for Paris Fashion Week.
