Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Co., makers of the Dickies workwear brand, has extended Rocky Brands' license agreement to exclusively manufacture and market footwear under the Dickies brand in the U.S. through 2010.

In addition, the parties have the option to extend the agreement for an additional three years beyond 2010. The extended agreement continues Dickies’ strategy of brand leadership in work related product categories with one of the strongest footwear organizations in the U.S.

“Dickies is an iconic brand with an incredibly robust heritage for quality and durability. Over the past several years, Rocky has grown a very successful business in Dickies footwear. A rugged footwear collection with unfailing delivery on that brand promise has proven to be a compelling choice for the demanding footwear consumer,” said Mike Brooks, chairman of Rocky Brands. “We look forward to continuing this for years to come.”

Under its licensing agreement, Rocky Brands holds the exclusive rights to produce Dickies footwear in the U.S. Its line includes industrial work and slip resistant footwear for both men and women.

“We have enjoyed a mutually-beneficial relationship since 2000,” said Philip Williamson, chief executive officer for Dickies. “Rocky has recognized the uncompromising performance expectations of the Dickies consumer and has applied world class design and production competencies to build a Dickies footwear line that will not disappoint.”
