Ritchey USA has announced major sponsorship of the 2004 Health Net Cycling Team presented by Maxxis. The team will be racing on Ritchey’s WCS Bars, Stems, Seat Posts, Headsets, Brake Pads and Probiscus Time Trial Bars.

This continues Ritchey’s sponsorship of both the 2003 Health Net and 7-Up Cycling Teams, with 7-Up previously run by Jeff Corbet, who is bringing himself, his staff and top riders to the ramped-up Health Net team. The team will be made up primarily from the 2003 Health Net & 7-Up/Maxxis teams, and includes core riders from the 2002 Mercury Cycling Team. Confirmed riders to date are; David Clinger, Tyler Farrar, Walker Ferguson, Gord Fraser, Hayden Godfrey, Greg Henderson, Brice Jones, Michael Jones, John Lieswyn, Jason Lokkesmoe, Jason McCartney, Scott Moninger, Michael Sayers, Dan Schmatz, Chris Wherry.

This revamped Health Net/Maxxis team is being touted by the media as America’s premier squad for 2004. Coming off of a successful racing season that saw Ritchey supported teams win stages of the Tour de France, they are anticipating a dominant year domestically as they solidify their presence as the top choice for road cycling components.
