Brazil’s Rider Sandals said its marketing manager Ricardo Mohr will now spend half his time working from Rider’s U.S. offices in Orlando, FL.

During his time leading the marketing efforts for Rider in Brazil, Mohr drove 20 percent growth for the brand in its home country.

“Rica was instrumental in implementing disciplined marketing initiatives that sparked our Brazilian operation and we’re delighted to add him to our US team,” said Angelo Daros, vice president of marketing at Rider USA.

Rider USA is owned by the Brazilian based Grendene SA, the largest maker of sandals in the world. In the United States, the company has focused on supplying sandals aimed at the surf, beach and college demographics.

“The foundation is in place in the US market and I’m delighted to jump in and help the brand accelerate its growth plan here in the US,” said Mohr.

Prior to working with Rider in Brazil, Mohr spearheaded the marketing operations in Brazil for Converse, where he helped the Brazilian arm of Converse, which recognized him for implementing the best digital and PR marketing campaigns.

As a Brazilian manufacturer, Grendene SA is held to the toughest manufacturing regulations in the world and environmental sustainability is an integral part of the company’s culture. Riders are made from 30 percent recyclable materials, while 99 percent of the industrial waste created in the manufacturing process is recycled or reused.
