Nike is close to announcing a record sponsorship deal worth more than £600 million ($1 bn) with Manchester United, the English Premier football team. It will bank United more than £60 million a year over the course of a decade-long agreement.
The deal is almost double the current top kit manufacturing deal, which nets Real Madrid £31million from their arrangement with Adidas. United currently have a deal with Nike worth £23.5 million a season, less than Real, Arsenal, Barcelona and Liverpool.
