REI Co-op is scheduled to open its first retail store in Jackson, WY in Summer 2021. The outdoor retailer also said a previously-announced store in Boca Raton, FL will open on November 13.

In Jackson, the 15,000-square-foot store will be located at Powderhorn Mall and include a full-service bike, ski and snowboard shop for maintenance and repairs.

“Jackson is an incredible outdoor community offering year-round activities from world-class skiing and snowboarding in the winter to expansive hiking, biking and camping in the summer,” said Janet Hopkins, REI regional director for the mountain district. “Jackson is the ideal place to serve our more than 41,000-lifetime members in Wyoming and the millions of people who adventure in the region every year.”

While the store in Jackson will be the Co-op’s first retail location in the state, REI’s adventure travel company has offered guided multi-day hiking, kayaking and family trips in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks for more than a decade. REI Jackson will also offer workshops and classes to connect people to outdoor experiences in the region.

In Boca Raton, the 23,000-square-foot store at the Uptown Boca lifestyle center will join the Co-op’s three Florida stores including Jacksonville, Winter Park and its newly opened Gainesville location. REI plans to open an additional store in Tampa in 2021.

“Boca Raton is an incredible community with access to some of the country’s most scenic beaches,” said Colleen Larkin, REI Boca Raton store manager. “In addition to connecting our local members to the many outdoor activities, we also look forward to investing in the places that make this region special.”
