Reed Exhibition, which acquired the Agenda trade show last year, has added Capsule trade to its fashion trade show lineup.  Founded in New York by Minya Quirk, Edina Sultank and Deirdre Maloney from fashion consultancy BPMW in 2007, Capsule has since manifested itself in Las Vegas, Paris and Berlin and in total puts on 12 trade shows a year.

“We feel that Capsule is a great cultural fit with our growing fashion portfolio, and a great addition to what we're doing with the AGENDA events” said Greg Topalian, senior vice president at Reed. “The team's dedication to the feel, authenticity and respect for the market it serves has been, and will continue to be, the keys to Capsule's success.”

BPMW and Reed plan to collaborate on show development and work to further enhance the overall experience for the exhibitors and attendees who make up the Capsule community, according to Reed officials.

The three co-founders of Capsule, Deirdre Maloney, Edina Sultanik and Minya Quirk, will stay on and work with Topalian and his team on running the events.

“We've watched the community of Capsule brands shape the fashion landscape and we're proud to offer a boutique experience that provides the opportunity for industry relationships to flourish,” Maloney said.

She added, ” But, as the market has grown so have we, and the time is right for us to join forces with a world-class company like Reed that can help us do what we've always done, better. We are so impressed with Reed's global perspective and rich experience, and we're looking forward to working together on what is and will remain a very personal project for us.”

The transaction was closed in December and terms of the deal were not disclosed.
