Redfeather Snowshoes has formed an exclusive rental multi-year partnership with Vail Resorts. Redfeather Snowshoes are now available to visitors at Nordic Centers located at Vail’s Golden Peak, Beaver Creek, Keystone and Heavenly ski resorts.

“Snowshoeing has really taken off at our resorts,” said Bill Gaudet, Strategic Alliance Manager, Vail Resorts, Inc. “We’re finding that more and more people are looking for other activities to complement their time spent skiing or snowboarding, and snowshoeing offers a great way for families or individuals to see more of the resort, have fun and get great exercise. We’re excited to now offer Redfeather Snowshoes at our Nordic Centers.”

Collectively, the four resorts offer hundreds of kilometers of snowshoeing trails and other terrain for guests to explore on their own or with a guide. With snowshoeing, visitors of any age and athletic ability can quickly and easily get out and enjoy a low-impact and fun exercise without worrying about additional equipment or hefty costs.

“Keystone guests are looking for ways to be active but avoid injury while at our resort. Snowshoeing is a great way to participate in a winter sport that has absolutely no learning curve,” said Keystone Nordic Director, Jana Hlavaty. “Snowshoeing is a sport that anyone from anywhere in the world, pregnant, young, old, athletic or not can pick up and enjoy. No longer do you have to be a skier or a snowboarder to feel like you’re participating in winter at our mountain.”

Keystone's Nordic Center has nearly a hundred kilometers of groomed and packed trails to choose from to snowshoe throughout the White River National Forest. Visitors can also participate in a “Snowshoe Ecology Tour” to learn more about local history and the environment, as well as the “Peak to Peak Trek” – an intense day trip exploring Keystone’s various mountaintops on Redfeather Snowshoes.

Beaver Creek's Nordic Sports features 32 kilometers of groomed trails at McCoy Park, nestled between Beaver Creek and Bachelor Gulch and accessed by the Strawberry Park lift, a private playground for snowshoers and cross country skiers. Beaver Creek offers a Snowshoe Adventure Series for patrons, including several snowshoe races throughout the season.

At Vail’s Nordic Sports Center at Golden Peak, snowshoers have the option of taking a half or full day tour to trek along one of the many trails in the White River National Forest, or take a leisurely walk at the Vail Nordic Center.

Heavenly’s Nordic program has taken off over the last few years and has become a fun offering for snow enthusiasts at the mountain’s Adventure Peak. After taking a 2.4 mile ride up the mountainside in the Gondola with picturesque views of Lake Tahoe, Redfeather Snowshoes are available for rent to accompany a day of adventure and exploration at the peak.

“We are delighted to be Vail’s exclusive rental snowshoe provider and help to open up another option for activity and enjoyment while spending time at any one of these premier resorts,” said Allan Kettlehut, Redfeather CEO. “Thousands of people every year are taking up snowshoeing as a new source for exercise and fun. It only makes sense to offer the sport in ski resort environments where people can truly take advantage of beautiful surroundings, get out on snowshoes and go anywhere.”
