About 12,655 Tony Hawk helmets sold at Walmart were recalled for safety concerns.
The helmets can “fail to protect in the event of a crash,” according to a release published by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The helmets have Item No. AGE2515STH-SIL printed on the white warning label inside the helmet and were sold exclusively at Walmart and online at Walmart.com from March until June for about $30.
The silver helmets have black straps and a black buckle featuring Tony Hawk’s signature on the outside.
Sakar International, the helmet manufacturer, will issue refunds for the helmets in the form of a $40 Walmart gift card.
