ICON Health & Fitness, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, is recalling approximately 33,000 Nordic Track Revitalize, Gold’s Gym, and Weider Club Inversion Benches. To date, ICON has received 75 reports of incidents involving a broken strap and ankle clamp, posing serious hazard to users. Of the 75 incidents, 23 have resulted in injury, some of which affected the head and neck.
Sold at sporting good stores, Walmart, Sears and other retailers nationwide from April 2008 through February 2009, the units retailed for between $200 and $300.
ICON is urging consumers to cease use of the product and return it for a replacement or refund of the purchase price.
