Kona Bicycle Company of Ferndale, WA has recalled about 531 of its 2014 Wo Fat Bike model because its Two Fat Disc Fork can break and create a fall hazard.
The forks can crack or break where the fork crown meets the steering column. Kona has received one report of a steer tube breaking without causing injury.
Kona is asking consumers to immediately stop riding the bikes and contact their local Kona dealer for instructions on receiving a replacement fork.
The Taiwanese-made bikes were sold by Kona dealers from September 2013 through July 2014 for about $1,700.
