Quality Bicycle Products of Bloomington, MN is voluntarily recalling about 100 front wheel bike racks after learning a mounting bracket can crack or break causing it to fall into the front wheel, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.



The recall involves Civia Loring bicycle racks made in Taiwan. These racks have black aluminum tubing with bamboo panels and mount to the bicycle’s front fork. The word “Civia” is printed on the rack’s side panels.


The firm has received one report of a rack mounting bracket breaking while the rider was on the bicycle, resulting in minor cuts.


The racks were sold from December 2009 throug February 2011 for about $175.
