Australia-based Rebel Sport’s parent company, Super Retail Group, appointed Kate Burleigh, formerly a regional Amazon executive, as a non-executive director, effective November 11.

Burleigh was, most recently, part of Amazon’s global leadership team as the executive chair and Australia-New Zealand country manager for Amazon Alexa and new technologies. She left the company last November.

Previously, Burleigh spent two decades with Intel, including as managing director for Intel Australia and New Zealand, responsible for Intel’s overall business across the ANZ region. Before that, Burleigh held sales and marketing leadership positions for Intel and the role of Asia-Pacific category manager for Intel Centrino mobile technology.

Super Retail Group Chair Sally Pitkin said, “I am pleased to welcome Kate to the Board. With the role of data and technology underpinning our omni-retail strategy, Kate’s experience in driving digital transformations through a period of rapid evolution will provide fresh perspectives for the Board as we charter the next chapter of growth for the Group.”
