The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation will launch a five-year campaign to engage Hispanics by launching a pilot outread program in Florida and Texas that includes a new Spanish-language microsite; digital, social and traditional media; and 15 events.
To ensure stakeholders are benefiting from its work, the RBFF has produced a webinar, “Engaging the Hispanic Audience: Insights to Actions,” that defines the Hispanic opportunity for the industry.
The RBFF said research has shown that the nation's 52 million Hispanics are under-represented as anglers, lack participation as boat owners and are generally unaware of aquatic conservation or preservation practices.
Hispanics nowrepresent 38 percent of the population under age 18 in the top 10 U.S. Designated Market Areas and is growing more from births than immigration. One of every four babies born in the United States is Hispanic.
