Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc., a subsidiary of Jarden Corporation, named Michael Zlaket as president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. In this role, Zlaket will work across various brands within the company including Rawlings, Worth, Miken, Debeer, Gait Lacrosse and Jarden Sports Licensing to execute strategic opportunities.
“Mike has a solid reputation for managing dynamic teams and possesses an in-depth background related to product innovation, investing in new products and product technology supported by innovative marketing programs,” said James E. Lillie, CEO of Jarden Corporation. “His strong and credible retail and industry experience with contacts across amateur and professional sports coupled with a wide range of knowledge in team related and field sports makes Mike a great fit for Jarden and our Team Sports business.”
Prior to joining Rawlings, Zlaket spent 20 years at Easton-Bell Sports, Inc. in an executive capacity culminating in the role of president in 2013. Zlaket holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkley.
Zlaket will succeed Robert Parish who is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities. “Robert has been a great steward of not only the Rawlings brand but also the other brands in the Jarden Team Sports portfolio for the last decade,” said Zlaket. “His 25 years of leadership dates back to his earliest days with Worth Sports and has had a strong impact on the industry.
