Rapala VMC Corp. reported that Stanislas de Castelnau, EVP and head of operations, retired after a 23-year career with the company at the end of March. He began his career with the company as general manager of its French hook factory (VMC Peche SA) and, for the past eight years, has been responsible for developing its worldwide operations.

The company said that Tuomas Akkanen, EVP and head of group supply chain and winter sports, and COO Jean-Philippe Nicolle will assume de Castelnau’s responsibilities.

“I want to thank Stanislas de Castelnau for his strong contribution to managing the Group’s hook business and developing Group operations during his very successful career at Rapala VMC,” said company President and CEO Lars Ollberg. “Stanislas de Castelnau’s efforts during recent years have been instrumental in the successful implementation of Rapala VMC’s strategy into Rapala VMC’s worldwide operations, in particular in the factories and working capital management.”
