Pyrenex, the luxury outwear manufacturer based in Saint-Sever, France, has specialized in producing down and feather-based products in the apparel and home accessories market since 1859.

Recently, the company appointed industry veteran Alan Daniel as its new commercial director. Daniel is an industry veteran who has worked in the outdoor industry for Rossignol, Rip Curl and Salomon.

“Joining such an iconic brand, with over 160 years of expertise in down jackets, is a real honour,” said Daniel in a media release. “I can’t wait to start collaborating with Pyrenex’s talented team to accelerate the brand’s growth and international reach.”

Daniel graduated from the Audencia Business School in Nantes, France, and moved to Australia. From 2000 to 2004, he worked for an Adidas subsidiary in Melbourne, responsible for exports in the Asia-Pacific region. He left to become the CFO of Salomon’s Brisbane subsidiary.

Daniel moved back to France, where he worked as an export manager for three years at sports eyewear brand Julbo. From 2007 to 2009, he was the EMEA export manager overseeing wholesale and retail at Rip Curl. In the summer of 2010, he joined Rossignol as a global commercial director for 14 years.
