The National Father’s Day Council announced today that Emanuel (Manny) Chirico, chairman and chief executive officer of PVH Corp., has been named a 2018 “Father of the Year” Honoree.
The 77th Annual Father of the Year Awards will be presented at the Sheraton New York Times Square on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 12 pm. As part of its commitment to support meaningful philanthropies dealing with issues affecting mothers, fathers and children, proceeds from the event will benefit Save the Children’s U.S. Programs.
A nearly 25-year veteran at PVH, Mr. Chirico has completely transformed it into one of the largest apparel companies in the world. As chairman and CEO, he has made significant improvements to expand PVH’s business beyond North America to include retail, wholesale, digital and licensing businesses covering all major global markets. A few of his major accomplishments include engineering the transformative acquisitions of Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Warnaco.
PVH and its brands have a long-standing relationship with Save the Children and Mr. Chirico serves on the board. He also serves on the board of Montefiore Medical Center and is an avid supporter of the Ronald McDonald House Charities. He is an active member of the Economic Development Committee, sits on the Advisory Committee for U.S. Trade Policy and Negotiations and serves on the Board of Directors at Dick’s Sporting Goods. Mr. Chirico, an alumnus of Fordham University, serves on the school’s Board of Trustees that, during his tenure, has helped establish 14 endowed chairs, along with 35 endowed or current use scholarships. He and his wife Joanne have three sons and two granddaughters.
