Puma AG said it formed a 100% owned subsidiary in Croatia, to be called Puma Sport Hrvatska as part of its plan to expand into new markets. Puma Sports Hrvatska, to be based in Zagreb, will start operations on Jan 1.

Puma Sport Hrvatska will be headed by Tomislav Coga, General Manager Croatia, and previously Divisional Sales Manager at Nike, where he had worked for 10 years. He will be joined by Sales Manager Mladen Stranjgar and Sales Representative Sabina Halilovic, who are both coming from Puma's current distributor in Croatia, Tradexco.

Puma sportlifestyle products have been sold in Croatia through Tradexco since 2003 and Tradexco will continue to operate the business until PUMA is fully operational in January 2008.

Tomislav Coga, General Manager Croatia: “Puma Sport Hrvatska will ensure to maximize the Puma brand potential on the Croatian market with the aim to become the most desirable Sportlifestyle company.”

Puma said Tradexco will remain a valued retail partner for Puma in Croatia. Puma Sport Hrvatska's new offices will include a showroom which permanently displays the latest PUMA Sportlifestyle collections. PUMA will expand its business in Croatia by opening Puma Stores in 2008.
