Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) on Thursday announced the election of two new directors-at-large—Lynne Rolley and Martin Van Daalen—to the PTR board.
Rolley and Daalen were elected at the organization’s annual general membership meeting and will serve three-year terms. Leo Alonso was re-elected to another three-year term, and Karl Hale was named president.
With more than 50 years of teaching and coaching expertise at every level, Rolley has been the director of Women’s Tennis for the USTA, coached the Fed Cup Team, PanAm Games and the U.S. National Teams all over the world.
She was the director of tennis at Berkeley Tennis Club and Moraga Country Club. Most recently, Rolley served as executive director of tennis at La Quinta Resort and PGA West, consistently ranked one of the top tennis resorts in the United States. Currently, she is the director of tennis at Meadow Swim and Tennis Club in Orinda, California.
Van Daalen has been coaching for more than 35 years, currently as the director of programming for Miami Beach Tennis Center and Academy. Before moving to the U.S., he was a national coach and director of women’s tennis in Holland.
Van Daalen worked with top players, including Pete Sampras, Jim Courier, Jennifer Capriati, Mary Pierce and Jared Palmer, at Saddlebrook Resort in Florida. For more than a decade, Van Daalen served as a National Coach for the USTA. In 2013-14, he worked as director of player development for the Finnish Tennis Federation.
Rolley and Van Daalen join current directors-at-large Leo Alonso and Lucy Garvin. Delaine Mast is vice president, Ken DeHart is secretary and Jack Waite is treasurer. Rodney Harmon is PTR’s immediate past president.
