Pro-Tec Athletics has hired Matt Vaughn, a nationally certified athletic trainer, to lead employee and
customer training clinics. Vaughn will travel across the country leading training clinics at run specialty accounts.

“We recognize the importance of our run stores instilling confidence in their staff to discuss running injuries and prevention with their customers,” stated Pro-Tec Athletics’ President Jeff Rodgers. “We want to do everything we can to support the education of their staff to better understand how our product line can prevent and help alleviate common running injuries.”

Matt will lead this initiative by traveling across the country leading training clinics at run specialty accounts. He has already begun with west coast running stores, putting on clinics for both staff as well as Pro-Tec nights for
customers and running groups. Vaughn  received a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology from Sonoma State University, followed by a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training from University of the Pacific. In 2014, he graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Master’s of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training.

“My degrees have given me the skills to prevent, rehabilitate, and improve an athlete before, during and after an injury,” said Vaughn.  “My experience has taught me to understand the importance of injury prevention and proper rehabilitation amongst all levels of the active population, including the nationally elite, elderly, and children athletes.”

Pro-Tec expects that this initiative will have a positive influence in the sell through of the sports medicine category within run specialty. Vaughn is also available to assist athletes direct through the ‘Ask the Trainer’ section on Pro-Tec Athletics’ social media sites.
