Grand Rapids, MI— TerraTrike, a leader in comfort cycling, is rolling out a new front-line trike for Spring 2020, the Maverick, a customizable and upgradeable point of entry to the fun and carefree world of leisure triking.

As recumbent trikes overtake two-wheeled recumbent bicycles in popularity, the new Maverick has big shoes to fill, replacing the popular TerraTrike Rover, which sold more than 16,000 units in its 10-year run.

The Maverick boasts a 5-pound weight reduction across its model range compared to its predecessor, along with electric-assist Boost Kit compatibility, updated styling and even more competitive pricing.

“While TerraTrike continues to elevate the trike market with innovations in electric assist, touring and pinnacle performance, we can’t ignore the need to continue growing the sport, to remove barriers to entry for potential trike riders,” said TerraTrike Director of Sales and Marketing Marshall Randall. “Today’s entry-level trike shoppers are tomorrow’s RAGBRAI riders, trike packers and daily commuters.”

Maverick is offered with a hassle-free, internally geared 3- or 8-speed drivetrain, as well as an externally geared 8 speed. All three iterations feature a direct drivetrain for a smooth and quiet ride without idlers, and the wide, fixed-mount seat offers a firm and comfortable riding position. Available wherever finer recumbent trikes are sold.
