Tread & Butter announced a new short podcast series about retail life during virus wartime. “Hunker Down” features five specialty retailers from across the US market telling the story of how the pandemic has impacted their community.
“COVID-19 is waging war on commerce,” said Tread & Butter CEO Matt Hughes. “First and foremost the virus attacks people and their health. That’s the most awful part of this ordeal. But the next layer is commerce, and people’s livelihood. We created this podcast series to highlight the hard working people who are fighting back with creativity and kindness in their communities.”
For the series, Hughes spoke with owners and employees at Forward Motion in Danville, CA, TerraLoco in Rochester, MN, Mountain Outfitters in Breckenridge, CO, Big Island Running Co in Kona, HI, and FootZone in Bend, OR. “Each store shared remarkable detail about how life and business changed on a dime,” added Hughes. “But there’s hope. Everyone is staying in the fight.”
