West Lebanon, NH, September 23, 2019—Tecnica, the Italian-based manufacturer of innovative technical outdoor footwear, is pleased to announce the addition of a sales rep in the South Central US. Effective immediately, Mike Young will service dealers in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
After re-entering the US footwear market and receiving multiple industry awards for their custom-fit trail shoes—the FORGE, PLASMA, and ORIGIN—enthusiasm for Tecnica footwear has rapidly grown among retailers and consumers alike. Accounts of customers traveling for several hours to authorized Tecnica dealers to experience their proprietary C.A.S. technology have not been uncommon. Because Tecnica footwear is committed to independent retail, sold solely through the wholesale channel, additional sales support will allow that momentum to continue to build.
Young brings 35 years of experience in performance footwear to his new role with Tecnica, having played an integral role in the development of Prince’s T-Series tennis shoe, which went on to be the number one tennis shoe for ten years.

Residing in Austin, Texas with his wife and two daughters, Young is enthusiastic to represent Tecnica and introduce their product line to the market. “Tecnica has disrupted the technical footwear category with C.A.S., providing customers with a new norm in how footwear fits and performs, and specialty independent retailers with an opportunity to deliver a unique, highly personalized in-store experience,” explained Young. “The outdoor community of the south is one that I expect will fully embrace it.”
