Stio, headquartered in Jackson, WY, is celebrating its 10th anniversary timed with the FW2021 season.

Stephen Sullivan founded Stio in 2011 with a vision to create apparel for living the mountain lifestyle experience. His first collection debuted with 16 styles in 2012 and a staff of ten. Today, the company has 200 styles in its line and over 100 employees, with many of its original employees still working for the company.

Stio is one of the largest employers in Jackson, WY.

Built on a direct-to-consumer (DTC) business model, Stio launched its e-commerce site,, and opened its first Mountain Studio store in 2012. Over 90 percent of its business revenue comes through and its brick-and-mortar channel. The company attributes much of its success to its DTC approach, believing it enables the brand to connect with its customers and allows for more creative freedom in its design/development process, resulting in a “superior customer experience and premium products.”

Beyond e-commerce, Stio currently has four Mountain Studio retail locations in Jackson and Teton Village, WY; Park City, UT; and Boulder, CO, with a fifth store planned to open early spring 2022 in Bend, OR. Several retail locations are planned for 2022.

With the recent expansion of Stio’s Outpost program, consumers can also find the brand in over 50 specialty retailers across the U.S.
