For Winter 2023, Smith and Japanese snow brand Oyuki teamed up on a design collaboration celebrating the deep snow experience in the Niseko area on the northern island of Hokkaido.
Illustrated by artist Mike Shankster and gracing Smith’s new Method Helmet and Squad Mag goggles, the collab features a graphic interpretation of the mythical Japanese Yōkai, meaning strange apparition, a “class of supernatural entities and spirits popular in Japanese folklore,” and celebrates the region that is often buried under snow for much of the winter.
