Outdoor Vitals, the Utah-based performance outdoor apparel and gear brand, released its Fortius Trekking Pole Tent.

Available in one-person (weighs 1.6lbs) and two-person (2.25lbs)versions, the Fortius is an ultralight tent but storm-worthy, giving more options for pitching when it comes to direction, site selection and reinforcement.

“When we set out to design a trekking pole tent, we wanted to make something truly ultralight,” said Founder Tayson Whittaker. “However, many ultralight trekking pole tents don’t hold up in some environments we often find ourselves in, such as violent thunderstorms. So, we made a more versatile trekking pole tent with plenty of reinforcement against the elements, and the resulting tent can withstand extreme weather conditions and provide comfort in nearly any situation.”

The Fortius features abundant usable space, large protective vestibules, multiple storm points and extra-long detachable stake lines.

Outdoor Vitals use15D sil/PU micro-ripstop nylon to create the tent, which has a waterproof rating of 1,500mm HH. The bathtub floor keeps ground runoff from entering the tent during a downpour.
