CORTEZ, Colo., Feb. 5, 2025 – This fall, Osprey, a Helen of Troy Limited (NASDAQ: HELE) brand, debuts its most sustainable, responsible and forward-thinking collection to-date. The upcoming season reflects Osprey’s unwavering dedication to reducing environmental impacts and supporting a circular economy with the introduction of a proprietary ReComp fabric, a new U.S.-based partnership with circular solutions and textile recycling brand Looptworks, and a growing line of products with the certified bluesign Product designation.
Turning waste into sustainable design, the introduction of ReComp fabric marks Osprey’s next leap in material innovation. ReComp repurposes and transforms Osprey’s manufacturing scraps into a 70 percent post-consumer and 30 percent pre-consumer recycled polyester main body fabric, which is featured in the season’s all-new Arcane Earth series. In addition to ReComp, Arcane Earth’s design technology uses 85 percent recycled EVA foam, 100 percent recycled labels and zipper pulls, and a minimal dyeing process that reduces water and energy consumption compared to traditional methods. Osprey’s new Arcane Earth series features a Duffel Pack, Roll Top Pack, Large Day Pack, and Hip Bag.
Osprey’s new U.S.-based partnership with Certified B Corporation Looptworks will further achieve next-level, end-of-use recycling for fall 2025. The partnership ensures any products that can’t be donated or repaired through Osprey’s All Mighty Guarantee will be downcycled as a solution to reduce textile waste and landfill impact. Looptworks will collect, sort, deconstruct and transform Osprey’s donated textiles into a non-woven fiber that’s used to make non-woven products such as insulation, carpet padding, concrete binding and acoustic tiles.
“Each season, Osprey continues to push boundaries with bold design and sustainable innovation, with the goal of being a more conscientious and progressive outdoor brand,” said Mark Galbraith, VP of Product. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with a like-minded company such as Looptworks, that shares our passion and dedication to reducing waste and making a positive change in our environment.”
Since becoming a bluesign System Partner in 2021 and then introducing the certified bluesign Product label to its collection in 2024, Osprey has continued to promote, adopt and implement safe chemistry and responsible practices throughout its supply chain. In fall 2025, 83 percent of Osprey’s entire product line will carry the bluesign Product designation — a 13 percent increase since fall 2024. Consumer products carrying the certified bluesign Product label meet strict safety and environmental requirements. The products are made of bluesign approved materials and are produced in a resource-conserving way with a minimum impact on people and the environment.
