Richmond, B.C. (June 9, 2020) – Nature’s Path – the leading family-owned organic breakfast and snack food company – is celebrating World Sea Turtle Week on June 8-June 16 2020 – starting with World Oceans Day and culminating on June 16 with World Sea Turtle Day. Nature’s Path multifaceted giveback campaign features their newly released EnviroKidz Turtle Splash cereal to support their ongoing mission to save the sea turtles.

Through a partnership with animal conservation organization SEE Turtles, Nature’s Path’s children’s cereal line EnviroKidz donates a portion of sales from every Turtle Splash cereal sold to support endangered sea turtles and threatened nesting beaches. Consumers also receive a secret code that can be used to symbolically adopt a baby sea turtle of their own.

“At EnviroKidz, it’s critical that we not only make delicious, organic foods but also educate and empower children on ways we can protect the planet and its inhabitants,” said Nature’s Path VP of Mission and Strategy, Jyoti Stephens. “That’s why we’ve partnered with SEE Turtles, to protect these animals from humanmade and environmental threats, while also offering kids the opportunity to symbolically adopt their very own sea turtle.”

Launched earlier this year, Turtle Splash cereal’s giveback initiatives have saved more than 5,000 baby sea turtles. The cereal is organic, gluten free, made with organic navy beans, fruit and veggies, beetroot juice for color and real organic strawberries.

The brand also collectively donates 1% of all sales to their animal partners through 1% for the Planet, so far reaching more than $4 million in donations. Other EnviroKidz cereals support endangered specials like pandas, lemurs, chimps, koalas, cheetahs, gorillas, amazon habitats and more. See the full line here.

“EnviroKidz has been a critical partner in our journey to protect threatened sea turtles,” said Brad Nahill. “We are so excited to launch World Sea Turtle Week as a way to spread awareness on these topics and build momentum in our efforts. This is how we all easily activate our ‘purchase power’ for good, and we look forward to saving many more turtles with EnviroKidz.”

To honor World Sea Turtle Day and Week, SEE Turtles will spotlight different endangered sea turtle species each day to garner awareness of the struggles these animals face. Today, all seven species of sea turtles are considered threatened or endangered, and only one out of every 1,000 hatchlings survive to adulthood. Everyday efforts such as ditching plastic straws, attending beach clean ups, and using a reusable water bottle can reduce the impact of environmental stressors on these animals.

EnviroKidz is also working with Sea Smart, a Virtual Sea School designed to get young people excited about cleaning up our oceans, to deliver virtual educational workshops to schools across Canada and the US from June 1st – 19th, 2020.
